16 dance brands team up for the Ukrainian Red Cross Crisis Appeal
I consider dancers, teachers, and artists in general to be givers. We tend to feel deeply and want to give, help, and contribute. We do this in a number of different ways: through sharing our art and talents, through teaching, and through creating. So when we see hard and painful things happening in our world, we naturally want to help. Watching the war unfolding in Ukraine has been troubling and heartbreaking, and if you’re anything like me, you desperately wish there was more you could do to help.

Dancespiration Designs Founder, Almiria
Almiria Wilhelm, Founder of Dancespiration Designs, recently reached out to me in search of spreading awareness about an amazing fundraiser her company, and many others have created in order to rally support and funds for Ukraine. Keep reading to learn more about how you can participate, and support this cause!
At Dancespiration Designs, a small, ethical dance apparel business founded by ballet teacher Almiria, we've been horrified by the war unfolding in Ukraine and we got together with 15 other incredible brands to create a really exciting fundraising competition with 2 grand prizes with a total value of over $900 USD!!
Over 2 million Ukrainians have already been forced to flee and many more are displaced or unable to access basic, life-saving supplies in Ukraine. 100% of the proceeds from this fundraiser will be donated to the Ukrainian Red Cross: https://redcross.org.ua/en/
Donations will be used to reach people in urgent need, including:
- Providing food, first aid, clean water, shelter support, warm clothing, hygiene parcels and medicines
- Supporting hospitals and healthcare facilities
- Supporting fire fighters and civil protection units
- Training people in life-saving first aid
- Helping families stay in contact with each other

Our contribution
At Dancespiration Designs, we have a personal connection with this crisis. Our talented graphic designer, Olga, is Ukrainian. Olga and Almiria worked together to create the artwork "Prayer" in response to the Ukraine crisis. Dancespiration Designs is donating a canvas artwork of "Prayer" to the fundraiser. In addition, all sales of "Prayer" items on the Dancespiration Designs websites (www.dancespiration.store and www.dancespiration.co.uk) will have 50% of proceeds donated to the Ukrainian Red Cross (in addition to 100% of the proceeds from the fundraiser).

- The winner will be announced on 20 March (via email and social media)
- We will update our website and social media with the amount donated after our fundraiser closes (21 March).
